We are all ready to start our birds unit.
The lapbooks are made-
all ready to be filled with mini books
I use the project books so the boys can add lots of work.
Previous experience has taught us they need to be reinforced, and covered in contact so they can withstand all the experiences they will be subject to over the coming months and in the future.
The boys love to get their lapbooks out to look at them long after they have moved on to learning something new. They also love to show them to visitors.
These are some of our books we will be using
Plus lots more books from the library and of course the Internet.

I love your lapbooks...what a nice idea! Have fun studying birds this season.
I'd love this block. The owl book looks wonderful.
I'm sure your sweet parrot will be in the thick of this block!
Blessings and magic.
I love Birds.
We get a good range of birds where we are now. Hopefully, where we are moving to will also have a good range of birds. There's some pine trees near the new place so hopfully there will be black cockatoos coming in for a visit - they like eating the pine nuts.
I love the picture of the King Parrots in the previous post. They are such gentle parrots. We get them in the back yard.
The Bower Birds, however, are in my bad books at the moment. They have discovered my vegie patch and keep eating all my Kale. But they are such a beautiful bird. The male with his blue eyes and satin feathers, it's hard to stay cranky at them for long (LOL).
Anne- thanks for dropping by, I love the black cockies as well so I hope they come and visit you in your new home.
How special to have bower birds visiting your garden! although I wouldn't really want them in my vegies either.
We are going up to Washpool Nat Park in week 7 to hopefully see some lyrebirds and some bower birds. We have seen the bower bird in his bower at Coffs Harbour botanic gardens and we might pop in on him this week as we will be in Coffs on Tuesday.
